Welcome to our recent joiner
What do you work with?
As a Lead Consultant with the Legal and Contract Management team, I concentrate on working with companies seeking to align with the EU Taxonomy, specifically Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation. Given my background as a U.S. attorney representing clients in tightly regulated industries, my current focus at Ramboll Management Consulting seems to be a natural fit.
What made you want to join Ramboll Management Consulting?
In early January, after a brief, unexpected, and happy turn of events, I found myself as a newly minted expat in Copenhagen without a concrete plan for what would come next, professionally speaking. My search in the coming months led me to Ramboll where I was able to find a match for my legal experience. It allowed me to become a part of a unique organization doing remarkable work across multiple disciplines. Joining Ramboll was a no-brainer for me.
What is the most significant professional experience you have had so far?
In 2019-2020, I worked in support of a Pennsylvania county’s application to the State’s Board of Education for the creation of a community college. While seemingly an ordinary project on its face, the application was met by fierce political opposition in state government. However, after a two-day Zoom hearing during the early days of the pandemic, the State Board granted the county’s application, the first new community college authorized by the Board in 30 years.
The establishment of the community college will have a lasting impact on the county. I’ll always be proud to have been a part of the legal team on this project.
What is the most exciting development within your field of work?
It would be difficult to overstate the importance of the EU Taxonomy on the future of sustainable investment. Its mere existence is the most exciting development in my field, creating an entirely new area of the law, one with which clients are very eager to align themselves. Moreover, focusing on this new discipline perfectly fits with Ramboll’s strategic ambition of being “The Partner for Sustainable Change.”
How are you planning on bringing this to our clients?
At present, I’m focused on helping clients make mandatory disclosures required of them in order to market sustainable financial products in the EU.
How do you define the higher purpose of what you do?
I think the big idea underpinning what I do is trying to help a great organization focused on leaving the world better than it found it.
What is your best source of inspiration?
My daughter, Leila. Having become a father a little over a year ago, my interest in the future direction of the planet is difficult to overstate.
At my desk I always have…?
As little as possible. The neater my desk, the neater my mind!
If I had the skills, I would love to be…?
A professional footballer. In an increasingly complex world, the beautiful game remains beautifully pure.
