Suzi Coey is an ecologist and aquatic biodiversity specialist with over 15 years’ experience in consultancy, regulation and academia.Her ecological impact assessment experience spans freshwater, marine and terrestrial environments. She has wide-ranging environmental impact assessment (EIA) and environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) experience, particularly within the mining, oil and gas, hydropower and transport sectors. Suzi is an experienced field surveyor and holds electrofishing team leader and river habitat survey accreditations.She is also trained in Phase 1 survey and UKHAB habitat survey methodologies, marine mammal observation and the use of freshwater macroinvertebrates in bioassessment.Suzi is familiar with the requirements of International Finance Corporation’s Performance Standard 6, is experienced in critical habitat assessment and has attended training in Strategies for Implementing Biodiversity Action Plans at the Smithsonian-Mason School of Conservation.Suzi works closely with other specialists such as hydrologists, and managing inputs from local ecologists for overseas projects. She has contributed to a wide variety of UK and European EIA studies and African ESIA studies and is an experienced field ecologist. Suzi has made multiple field survey visits to lead teams in Serbia, Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Cameroon and Uganda in relation to major developments. She holds a BSc in Environmental Biology and a MSc in Wildlife Management and Control.
