Tim joined Ramboll in 2014, and is a Technical Director based in the Bristol Office. He also leads the Ramboll UK Structures Technical Excellence Networks, which are key knowledge, development and innovation areas within the structures team. With Tim’s wide ranging experience across the buildings, transport and industrial sectors, his career includes many varied highlights including working on landmark building projects, long span lightweight roofs and large scale art sculptures. In particular, he has been involved in the design of projects involving complex geometry and visually expressed structure. On large projects he routinely acts as the Design Manager, motivating and leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams with many coordination interfaces. Tim has considerable experience within the retail sector, having worked on Whitefriars Canterbury, Princesshay Exeter, Cabot Circus Bristol, Trinity Leeds, Westfield London Phase 2 and Oxford Westgate. He has been involved in the design of both retail buildings and specialist feature roof structures, including the award winning lightweight gridshell roofs at Bristol and Leeds. Having worked within client design teams from project inception through to Design & Build delivery with contractors Tim is well versed in the demands of fast-track design running in parallel with the construction process. His personal skills engender strong working relationships and positive collaboration with clients, partners and project stakeholders. Tim’s technical and personal skills, combined with his extensive experience, are well suited to make a leading and positive contribution to many types of projects in the commercial, retail, arts, transport and industrial sectors, as well as bespoke one-off commissions.
