Joseph Vitale has more than 25 years of experience with environmental and civil design projects, with particular emphasis on the application of risk-based cleanup strategies to site remediation under Superfund, RCRA and state cleanup programs. Joseph has managed similar projects in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, New York and New Jersey. His recent work has included developing and implementing site characterization and remediation plans involving PCB-impacted soil, sediment and groundwater and landfill closures; conducting remediation alternatives analyses and environmental liability assessments; managing the construction of a site remedy that consisted of removal and off-site disposal of TSCA-regulated soils, dredging of PCB-impacted sediments and on-site placement of this material; design and installation of a sub-aqueous cap using pre-engineered marine mattresses to cover PCB-impacted sediments; and providing technical support for regulatory negotiations and expert testimony in environmental litigation. Joseph received an MBA from Babson College, an MS in civil engineering from Northeastern University and a BS in chemistry from Boston College. He is a registered professional engineer in Massachusetts.
