Lynden Spencer-Allan is a Technical Associate within the Structures group of Ramboll in the UK. He joined consulting engineers Whitbybird (now Ramboll) as a graduate engineer in 2005, becoming a Design Engineer in 2007 and an Associate in 2008. Lynden is a specialist in the design of laboratory and science buildings and is the sector lead for Ramboll in the UK. He has significant experience in the design of highly complex laboratory facilities for specialist uses and uses a rigorous approach to ensure that the building design achieves all the users’ requirements. He is a structural engineer who believes that for a project to be a success it is critical to understand the other discipline's designs as well as the users’ requirements. By understanding the science being carried out, Lynden ensures that the structural design efficiently performs to the requirements whether it is highly sensitive vibration requirements, electro-magnetic effects or other factors. Lynden is a specialist in low vibration requirements and has been responsible for the design of some of the world's lowest vibration laboratories.
