Fay Newham is a Project Associate, she joined consulting engineers Gifford (now Ramboll) in 1985 as a graduate engineer, became a Project Manager in 1994 and a Principal Engineer in 2000. In 2008 she became an Associate. Fay has over 30 years of experience in civil and structural engineering since graduating from Bristol University in 1985. Since 2000 she has chosen to specialise in projects in the historic environment and now leads a team of engineers working on a wide range of survey, conservation and refurbishment projects across the North West of England and North Wales. She promotes a conservation-based approach to all the projects. Her role varies from providing advice, to project management and contract administration. Fay has extensive experience of complex heritage projects including the coordination of multi-disciplinary projects. She frequently negotiates consents withHistoric England, Cadw (the historic environment service for the Welsh Government) and local authorities for repairs and interventions to Scheduled Monuments and Listed Buildings. Projects range from standing ruins to industrial archaeology, barns to castles, bridges to cathedrals.
