Lyle Trumbull is an ecologist with 34 years of experience in academics, government, industry and consulting. His consulting experience has focused on risk assessment (human and ecological), environmental assessment and permitting, and emergency response. Lyle has led large risk assessment efforts for more than 30 industrial and federal clients, conducted risk assessment training programs for the Pennsylvania Council of Professional Geologists, and contributed to the Interstate Technology & Regulatory Council (ITRC) Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon (TPH) Risk Assessment Working Group from 2016 to 2018. He has authored and managed over 10 NEPA environmental assessments and has conducted wetland and sensitive species permitting tasks for such clients as Shell, Sunoco, Pfizer, Picatinny Arsenal, McGuire Air Force Base, Dover Air Force Base, Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, and the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority. In addition, his emergency response experience includes participation in the Environmental Unit for over 40 spill drills and/or events. In 2005, Lyle received a US Coast Guard Meritorious Team Commendation for performance during the T/V Athos I response and was responsible for permitting, booming strategies, and ESA Section 7 compliance during the 2010 MC252 response. He is the primary subject matter expert for Ramboll’s NYSDEC Geographic Response Plan contract and has worked with the US Coast Guard and the states of New Jersey and New York to develop Geographic Response Strategies for the Arthur Kill, Kill Van Kull, and Newark Bay.
