Ali Farnoud started his career as an air quality permitting and compliance expert working on emission units from a variety of industries such as power generation, printing, chemical, lime, cement, natural gas, and pharmaceutical. He led large projects such as natural gas liquefaction and cement kiln renovation projects. Throughout his career, Ali gained an in-depth knowledge of federal and state engine regulations and assisted large data center clients with permitting and compliance requirements. He currently leads environment and health services for the data center sector for Ramboll, Americas. He also serves on the board of the Air Permitting Committee for the Data Center Coalition. Ali’s doctoral research was focused on particulate matter control from diesel engines. He has instructed several higher education courses on air quality permitting and compliance, as well as an introduction to environmental engineering course as an adjunct professor at the Catholic University of America.
