I’m an environmental engineer (Politecnico of Milano), I’ve been working as environmental consultant for 20 years, 11 of which have been at Ramboll. I work mainly with contaminated sites, assisting clients from characterization to the final remediation, with a focus on Human Health and Environmental Risk Assessment, which is my expertise.
I’ve worked also for multidisciplinary projects regarding human health and ecological studies, surface water, contamination transport modelling and expert services for civil and criminal proceedings.
Enjoying beautiful landscapes
Some years ago, we investigated DDT and Mercury contamination in water, sediment and biota in the Lake Maggiore. This was to assess the human health and ecological risk, considering the evolution over the years, the hydrodynamics, and possible climate change scenarios. I remember the first day of the environmental investigation, my colleagues and I, together with the environmental protection technicians and other experts, felt very lucky on the boat.
We worked hard, but we could enjoy one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world! We kept feeling this way until the end of the project, when we presented the results and a long-term natural recovery monitoring plan to the Environmental Ministry.
Making a positive difference
In Ramboll we never get bored. We always face new challenges, new topics to learn about, complex problems to solve working as a team. I like cooperating with colleagues and clients to build trust and define together the most suitable solution. We aim to provide an added value, for instance, regarding environmental sustainability and this motivates me: helping my clients and making a positive difference in creating a more sustainable future.
