You will join our Impact Assessment team

As an EHS Consultant you will be part of our multidisciplinary, dynamic and growing team in Barcelona or Madrid, with a collaborative environment where we share knowledge, experience and views in close collaboration with our international teams.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Participate in environmental and social impact assessment projects regionally and internationally.
  • Support ESDD following international standards (e.g. IFC, WB, EBRD, EqP IV, OECD…).
  • Contribute to social and environmental topics around permitting and management of impacts (Scoping, ESIA, ESMS, E&S Management Plans, Site Visits…).
  • Support general Project Management and preparation of proposals as part of the IAP team and projects.
  • Help providing technical assistance for sustainable solutions for our clients (e.g. Biodiversity and Ecosystems, Resource Management and Circularity, Resilient Societies and liveability, Decarbonization, EU Taxonomy).

You will be required to work in both international and local projects and where required (based on your role in the project) will be required to travel within Spain and abroad including developing countries.

Your starting point for constant growth

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental or social sciences (e.g. biology, environmental engineering, environmental science, sociology, social development, anthropology) or related disciplines. A training in Health and Safety is a plus.
  • At least 2 years of experience in permitting on environmental, social or combined disciplines (e.g. permitting roadmaps, Scoping, ESIA, SEP, Disclosure, Resettlement AP, Biodiversity AP, Critical Habitat Assessment, Climate Change Risk Assessment, GHG, Construction and Operational Management Plans, etc.).
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in Spanish EIA process and legal requirements.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in ESDD (either on environmental and/or social aspects).
  • Understanding of the Energy Sector and renewable energies in Spain.
  • Knowledge of key environmental and social standards/safeguards and environmental and/or social development policies and practices for international finance institutions and relevant EU policies).
  • Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing reports.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English languages are a requirement. Other languages (e.g. French, Portuguese and any other are a plus).
