Bidding Manager - Highrise
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Bidding Manager to oversee the tender proposal process
for high-rise building design engineering projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for
identifying, preparing, and submitting competitive and compelling bids for design engineering services
related to high-rise building projects. The role requires in-depth knowledge of design engineering,
building codes, and tender processes, along with strong project management skills to ensure timely,
accurate, and high-quality proposals
- Tender Process Management:
- Review tender invitations and documents thoroughly to understand project requirements, timelines, and client expectations.
- Lead the preparation and submission of tender proposals for high-rise building design engineering projects.
- Develop a bid strategy and timeline for each project to ensure all deliverables are met on time.
- Maintain an up-to-date repository of all submitted bids material, effectively reflecting the latest company trends & offering.
- Proposal Development & Coordination:
- Prepare a comprehensive design proposal that includes conceptual designs, technical specifications, engineering solutions, and compliance with internal governance process and relevant building codes and standards.
- Prepare detailed project schedules, deliverable timelines, and cost estimates related to design engineering services.
- Coordinate with internal design engineering teams, architects, and sub-consultants to gather necessary project information, technical inputs and pricing.
- Draft and finalize bid documents, ensuring the proposal is aligned with the client’s requirements and expectations.
- Prepare and present the final bid proposal to higher management for approvals through internal governance (Decision Gate) process.
- Cost Estimation and Financial Management:
- Lead the development of cost estimates fee tool related to design engineering services, ensuring competitiveness while maintaining profitability.
- Ensure that the bid accounts for all aspects of the design engineering process, from initial concept to detailed design and final implementation.
- Risk and Compliance Management:
- Identify potential critical risks during the tender process (e.g., project scope, technical challenges, Sub-consultant performance, authority approvals etc.) and develop risk mitigation strategies in discussion with Project manager.
- Ensure that all proposals comply with Business Integrity policies, sustainability goals & strategy and be within legal terms & conditions.
- Client Engagement and Relationship Building:
- Act as the primary point of contact during the bidding process, addressing client queries and concerns.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, presentations as required to understand the client’s needs and expectations.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients throughout the bidding process to ensure alignment on project scope, design goals, and deliverables.
- Proposal Presentation and Negotiation:
- Prepare and present the final bid proposal to clients in a clear, professional, and persuasive manner.
- Highlight the strengths of the proposal, differentiators, and value engineering options to clients.
- Negotiate project terms, design adjustments, and fees based on client feedback and internal considerations.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Architecture, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in bid management or tendering for high-rise building design engineering projects.
- Proven experience in preparing and submitting proposals for large-scale high-rise building design projects.
- Strong understanding of the design engineering lifecycle, from concept through to execution.
- Familiarity with relevant design engineering software and tools.
- Experience in budget management, cost estimation, and financial reporting for design projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- Proficiency & advance knowledge of excel is needed.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to manage multiple tender submissions simultaneously.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and meet deadlines.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
