Dusty Tazelaar has 20 years of professional experience in the fields of fish and wildlife habitat restoration, ecological risk assessment, and environmental toxicology. He has particular expertise in permitting for fish and wildlife habitat restoration efforts, the oversight and coordination of engineered design plans, stakeholder meetings, Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP) development, bathymetric and topographic surveys, permitting, long-term monitoring plan development, bid package development, and construction management and oversight. Dusty also has experience in oversight of laboratory studies, environmental fate and transport of compounds, long-term field investigations, and ecological risk assessments. He is an experienced field team leader and has substantial experience managing personnel for large-scale biological sampling efforts to support ecological risk assessment. His field experience extends to spill response and National Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) support, various fish and wildlife survey techniques, and a robust skill set to sample flora, fauna, and abiotic environmental matrices. Dusty has a BS in fisheries and wildlife management and an MS in animal science with specialization in environmental toxicology from Michigan State University.
