Proactive environmental justice solutions

Federal commitments enacted as part of the Justice40 Initiative and advanced through Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Act funding accelerate benefits to local communities. For all clients, our experts consider environmental, social, and health information to address questions related to social impact, whether this is in response to regulatory drivers, shareholder and community concerns, or internal sustainability goals. We develop public-facing environmental communication tools, such as Shair, in areas with underserved communities and at-risk populations so that all affected parties have the information necessary to fully engage with the work at hand.

Sustainability includes equity, and our work in risk assessment and community health is viewed through an EJ lens to assess whether products and operations have the potential to adversely affect the communities in which they are developed. Laws and regulations developed under the Justice40 initiative, including the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, result in increasing requirements to demonstrate commitment to EJ. Our experts are knowledgeable about emerging requirements such as cumulative impact and cumulative risk assessments and about tools - including EJScreen, EJI, AirToxScreen, CEJST, and RSEI – to assist clients in making responsible decisions that benefit local communities.
