Overview
Ramboll Middle East is looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Mechanical to lead and oversee a team successfully delivering large-scale, multidisciplinary projects across multiple locations. Reporting to the Director of MEP.

To lead mechanical engineering section and provide support to Building Director and fellow Associates and mentoring role to leaders on a number of teams.
- Responsible for leading a team of engineers involving:
Team Motivation
Training and development
Managing day to day work
Team profitability
Resource planning and management
Developing and guiding engineers and/or design team.
Applying policies relating to health & safety, quality and training
- Hold regular team meetings.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key clients and partners, potential key targets and ensure the delivery of a responsive and professional service
- Undertake regular reviews of all key projects within own area of responsibility and proactively engage with clients and partners to gather feedback and deliver service improvement initiatives.
- Have an understanding of our business plan, mission statement and key challenges.

Such projects could be multi-disciplinary but will generally be single discipline
- Liaise with client/design team/contractor/authorities.
- Ensure QA policy and HSE requirements are satisfied.
- Represent the practice on the projects under his/her control.
- Review and comment on deliverables produced by the team on a regular basis.
- Coordinate and liaise with all other design team members including architects and structural engineers plus client, project managers and QS.
- Prepare drawings and calculations.
- Check drawings / review calculations from Senior Engineers and Engineers.
- Have some understanding of company financial indicators, principles of share scheme and options schemes in operation.
- Agree design philosophy/design fundamentals.
- Have a detailed knowledge of analytical concepts.
- Have a good knowledge of concept design, buildability, detailed design, construction techniques, procurement routes, risk assessment and claim assessment.
- Have a detailed knowledge of our delivery in BIM standards.
Contribute to the strategic direction of the business and play a key role in the development of the company procedures and by an active role in task groups.
Qualifications:
Graduate Engineer in Building Services, Mechanical or Building Service Engineering.
Experience:
- Minimum of 12-15 years’ experience.
- Proven track record in building services design with different types of buildings including high rise, commercial, residential, retail, Healthcare, Industrial, refurbishment, etc;
- Proven record as a Project Engineer on a number of projects.
- Experienced at:
- Presenting to clients
- Attending difficult client meetings
- Preparing client/project proposals for agreement
- Negotiating fee proposals and requesting additional fees where possible
- Constructing project teams from internal and external resources
- Procuring project resources
- Planning and running projects
Technical Skills:
High degree of technical competence in their field of building services design including proven ability to carry out both manual and computer aided calculations, problem solving, technical and financial analyses, etc.
