From proposal preparation to technical drafting, public consultation and publication, a national standard undergoes a series of developments before a consensus can be reached by the British Standards Institution (BSI).
Ramboll Environ Managing Consultant, David Schofield (Birmingham, UK) has accepted an invitation to join BSI’s Water Quality Committee and assist in the development of water quality standards.
David will bring 17 years’ experience within the contaminated land sector together with a strong understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) groundwater monitoring regulation requirements.
Working alongside committee members, including DEFRA representatives, the Environment Agency and industry groups, David will help to develop the standardisation of sampling practices (ISO/TC147/SC6) used in the water quality assessment.
As well as supporting BSI in the development of national standards, David is also a member of the executive committee and the current secretary for the Society of Brownfield Risk Assessment.
