The purpose of the European programme is to promote green hydrogen as an element in the green transition by paving the way for development of a European hydrogen value chain and supporting the formation of partnerships between relevant players.

The companies and research institutions which have now been prequalified can take part in matchmaking with other relevant partners and form partnerships that together can lift large-scale pan-European projects that are essential to the EU’s transition to Net Zero.

Ramboll’s five projects span from a green east-west shipping corridor through the Baltic Sea (together with Port of Roenne) to hydrogen storage in salt caverns (together with Gas Storage Denmark). Read more about the prequalified projects here: (under “Danish hydrogen projects for European matchmaking”).

“These projects are indeed of high importance for accelerating the green transition and enabling large Power-to-X projects,” says Eva Ravn Nielsen, Chief Consultant for Power-to-X at Ramboll. “We look forward to the matchmaking and to offering European companies our competencies. Our great experience in design and implementation of energy solutions is our stronghold in combination with our dedication to these new technologies.”

The deadline for submission of final applications is 7 April. The Danish government expects to make its final decision at the end of April, while the EU and member states will make a final decision at the end of the year.
