Ida Linde Hansen
To set the scene while waiting for IWA to get started, we gave the word to Ida Linde Hansen. Ida will be representing Ramboll during the congress and is also an active member of the Danish chapter of “Young Water Professionals”.
YWP is a global network of young professionals working with water. The main goals of the network are to empower young specialists within the water sector to share their knowledge, expand their professional network, help young professionals across the globe to build their careers, make an impact as the future leaders, and develop professionally.
One of my highlights during the conference is the Emerging Water Leaders Forum on Tuesday. The topic of this year’s forum is Challenges in the Water Sector and How to Make an Impact as Young Water Professional (YWP), and the participants will discuss and design solutions to address big challenges in the water sector.
I am also looking forward to exploring all the different pavilions and stands in the exhibition area, which is publicly available for everyone also if you do not have a conference ticket, hear the keynote speakers, and of course the YWP Dinner on Monday evening here at Ramboll.
I’m so happy that Ramboll and YWP Denmark are hosting this event. You can easily get a bit lost at such a big conference where many thousand participants are expected to visit, but this is an exclusive event only for YWPs and an opportunity for meeting like-minded young professionals from all over the globe. It is a great foundation for the following congress days. We have planned different activities during the evening such as a water tasting and a pub quiz, and both IWA president Tom Mollenkopf and our own director Esther Bosman will give speeches.
