Webinar: Considering power generation planning & permitting requirements for CO2 ‘Net Zero’ emission targets?

8 October 2020

Noting that there remains a need for continuous non-intermittent technologies within the power generation mix, current indications and projections are that to meet CO2 ‘Net Zero’ emission targets, electricity sectors will be required to become ‘CO2 neutral’ and power generation sectors will be required to become ‘CO2 negative’.

Therefore, any continuous non-intermittent technology mix is likely to include a balance of conventional power generation technologies (such as gas-fuelled generating stations), and emerging low-CO2 and negative-CO2 power generation and energy storage technologies (such as hydrogen-fuelled generating stations, CO2 capture and storage, bio-energy CO2 capture and storage (BECCS), and battery energy storage).

For all such technologies, developers and operators are required to comply with planning and permitting regimes, in addition to more specific requirements supporting CO2 ‘Net Zero’ emissions targets such as CO2 capture readiness (CCR), to enable future CO2 emission reductions, and combined heat and power (CHP) readiness, to promote energy efficiency improvements.

What can you expect from this webinar?

Join Dr. Emily Agus (from our Ramboll Energy – UK Power Generation group), who will provide insight into the general power generation planning and permitting regimes and the additional specific requirements covering CCR and CHP, and will present a sample of our relevant experience and project references.

When

The webinar takes place on 5 November 2020 at 14:00-14:45 CET.
