Modernising the water infrastructure in Romania
Ramboll has been selected to provide technical assistance to project management of further development and modernization of the water infrastructure in Romania.
RAJA Constanta, the largest public regional operator in Romania, is developing, modernizing and streamlining the water and wastewater infrastructure for a large area in the Eastern part of the country – and RAJA has recently selected Ramboll to deliver technical assistance services for this major project. The general objective is to ensure the smooth implementation of the project that will include rehabilitation, modernization and extension of water supply systems, wastewater collection systems and wastewater treatment plants.
The specific objectives associated with the service contract are:
- Strengthening the institutional capacity of the Project Implementation Unit within the Regional Operator, in order to fulfill its tasks
- Providing managerial support for the administration of the financing contract
- Updating the strategic plans for the development of the water and wastewater sector in the project area in the short, medium and long terms
- GIS system updates for water supply and sewerage systems
- Updating of the hydraulic modeling system of water supply systems
- Updating the management system to reduce water losses in distribution networks
- Updating the strategy and action plan regarding industrial wastewater management
- Updating the strategy and action plan regarding waste management at wastewater treatment plants
- Updating action plans regarding protection of water sources
- Ensure adequate publicity of the project
Ramboll’s project team includes consultants from the offices in Romania as well as experts from Ramboll offices in other countries such as North America.
