Ulf Hedman to Take Charge of Ramboll Hospitals
Ulf Hedman, former Deputy Head of Division at Ramboll Sweden, will on January 1, become Global Spearhead Director for Ramboll Hospitals. More than 400 people in Ramboll work on designing and developing hospitals each day.
“I’m very excited, and at the same time, I feel humbled by the challenges. We receive requests from many parts of the world and can compose international teams with the best experts. Within this field, there are great opportunities to create a lot of benefits for society," Ulf Hedman, incoming Global Spearhead Director at Ramboll, says.
Ulf Hedman has been in the industry for a long time and at Ramboll Sweden since 2006. Among other things, he has held leading positions within transport, geoengineering, energy, installation and buildings services.
“So much has happened. I've been with the same company for a long time, but in many different jobs. One of Ramboll's strengths is the width, and that we can work together in so many different areas. We can deliver a wholeness to the client that only few companies can, and I am very proud of that," Ulf Hedman explains.
The industry is undergoing major changes. Covid-19 has given rise to the trend of building more flexible hospitals, and in several places around the world, temporary hospitals have been built for a bigger preparedness.
“While we are building flexibly to change care as needed, there is also a trend towards specialization. Digitalization and technological development also put great demands on us consultants, controlling that all external factors work together with new technology,” Ulf Hedman says.
Another trend is automation in hospital logistics. Ramboll is specialized in designing and implementing robots that transport materials and medicine in the hospitals. The robots are important both to be able to use healthcare professionals where they are most needed and in certain situations to avoid infection.
