The Vienna North Hospital is regarded as one of Europe's most modern hospitals and one of Austria’s largest construction projects. Nearly € 1.2 billion euros has been invested in the greenfield developing. The hospital of the Vienna Association of Hospitals (Wiener Krankenanstaltenverbund, KAV) is located on the left side of the Danube in a former industrial area which is being transformed into a high-quality healthcare area. The building itself has been designed as a high-tech hospital with making the most of the natural with its light-flooded atriums.
In the future the facility is planned to there are supposed to have approximately 40,000 inpatient treatments, 250,000 ambulant treatments and about 16,000 surgical interventions each year.
