In 2008, Carlsberg Properties appointed Ramboll as their main lighting consultant relating to the redevelopment of the Carlsberg Breweries’ site in Valby, Copenhagen. Entasis Architects won the competition of the general masterplan for the area, which aims to create a sustainable city by reinterpreting principles and qualities of the medieval town.
Ramboll developed the Lighting masterplan in close collaboration with Carlsberg and Vogt Landscape Architects (CH). The primary purpose of the masterplan is to ensure that the lighting of the area will be developed in a coherent and legible manner; retaining the present qualities of the site while also considering its future identity.
Furthermore, Ramboll have acted as lighting consultants in relation to the conceptual design of three plazas; “Bag Elefanterne” and “Bryggernes Plads” designed by Vogt Landscape Architects and “Ottilia Jacobsens Plads” designed by SLA Landscape architects.
