Ranta-Tampella is located on the northern edge of Tampere city center on the shores of Lake Näsijärvi at the mouth of Tammerkoski. The streets of Ranta-Tampella, the park areas and the canal with bridges built in the middle of the residential buildings create a distinctive and unique urban look for the area. The area is the last large new construction area around Tammerkoski. There are several living and sitting areas at the edges of the canal and a wide stepping area descending into the water is being built at the eastern end. The canal is crossed by six bridges, the design language of which is matched to the railing structures of the canal. A small jetty will be built next to the corner pier of the canal, which will allow a short-term landing by boat. In addition to street and square spaces, the new residential area under construction includes parks and a beach trail. The parks are home to a variety of opportunities for activities such as outdoor sports equipment and seating to admire the lake or canal landscape. Ramboll has prepared implementation plans for street and special lighting for the site. The heart of the beach-Tampella area consists of a canal and its bridges, which are spectacularly highlighted by lighting integrated into the landscape structures.
