Due to foreseen capacity issues in the near future in the existing Indira Gandhi International Airport servicing New Delhi and the capital region, a new greenfield airport has been envisioned in Noida. This airport will be developed under a PPP contract.
As the airport is located to the West of the main part of Delhi it is expected that the airport will be able to co-exist with the current Indira Gandhi International Airport (which is to the East) absorbing the demand from the western regions close to the capital city. Ramboll was engaged by the winning bidder of the concession to develop three different packages:
- Airside Concept and Scheme Design
- Landside Concept and Scheme Design
- Sitewide Utilities Concept and Scheme Design
