In the summer of 2014 a joint venture between Ramboll Oil & Gas and Semco Maritime were rewarded an EPC contract for the provision of onshore and offshore services to Hess Denmark’s platforms in the Danish North Sea.
Uniting competencies for large-scale platform EPC contract
Under a comprehensive framework agreement, Ramboll and Semco Maritime will provide end-to-end services covering engineering, procurement, quality assurance and offshore manpower as well as handle the full responsibility for construction projects at the South Arne field.A decade of dedicated engineering services
The South Arne field is located in the Danish sector of the North Sea and lies in 60 metres (200 feet) of water. The field counts a total of 26 wells, consisting of 17 producers and 9 water injection wells. Ramboll’s commitment to the Danish Hess operations commenced in 2004 with a partnering contract (EPCM) for engineering services and modification jobs on South Arne.Smooth execution of brownfield projects
Over the years Ramboll has carried out a significant number of modification projects including an upgrade of the existing water-injection module, installation and construction of production flow lines, and studies and detailed design of extensions for accommodating additional production wells on South Arne. For these projects Ramboll performed the full scope of work from initial idea to final handover in cooperation with Hess Denmark. This also included managing the team of internal engineers and external sub-contractors who worked on the projects.
Bringing comprehensive knowledge about South Arne
Since 2010 Ramboll and Semco Maritime have worked together on the South Arne field as part of Hess Denmark's Phase III Development project including the tie-in of two additional well-head platforms. Hence, the current 2014 EPC contract provides Hess with a team that has considerable experience and intimate knowledge of the South Arne field and its platforms.
