Sustainability is a core value at the State University of New York at Oneonta (SUNY Oneonta) and infused into all aspects of the college including academics, operations and engagement.
In the face of current pressures such as energy and GHG reduction mandates from New York State, SUNY Oneonta is charting near-term actions and a long-term decision-making framework to achieve energy and carbon reduction goals through a Clean Energy Master Plan.
Ramboll has been a partner to SUNY Oneonta through the development of the Clean Energy Master Plan, creating a vision for low-carbon and renewable technologies and operational strategies to reduce fossil fuel use/dependency, increase electrification of utility operations, and maintain resiliency and reliability. The plan achieves energy and carbon reductions through energy efficiency, infrastructure renewal, renewable energy, stewardship of physical assets, and engagement of the campus community to promote energy conservation and impact behavioral change.
In addition, the master plan will provide a roadmap over a 20-year horizon to position the campus to achieve energy efficiency and carbon emission reduction goals, while improving campus resiliency. It also will be integrated with a new Facilities Master Plan.
