Ramboll appoints new Managing Director for Norway

Arne Birkeland brings international senior management experience and years of strategic business leadership and organisational development. His accomplishments include a growth journey of Mørenot Group as CEO, as well as leading strategic initiatives and alliances at Westcon Group AS. He also has extensive experience within the industry sector, a key strategic area for Ramboll, and he has been leading Naval Architects and Engineering resources in Wärtsilä Corporation and Aker Solutions. With a proven track record of driving growth and leading successful transformations, Arne is well-equipped to continue growing Ramboll Norway and strengthening our market position.

Ole-Petter Thunes, who announced he would be stepping down last year, will transition to a role as Senior Project Director from 1 March and will continue working closely with clients and projects.

Delivering for our clients in Norway and beyond

In Norway Arne will lead our 1,600 experts, who deliver solutions within Buildings, Transport, Water, Environment & Health, Energy, Management Consulting and Henning Larsen. He will be instrumental in driving collaboration and bringing the best of Ramboll’s sustainability insight, innovation power and design excellence to our clients.

He will be responsible for strategically developing Ramboll’s Norwegian business, continuing the execution of the current strategy and business plan, as well as articulating and implementing new strategies for profitable growth in close collaboration with all seven markets in Ramboll. He will also focus on increasing collaboration with Ramboll's Global Engineering and Automation Centre in India to enhance profitability, scalability, and resource flexibility.
